If you listen to it once... then MAYBE,,, maybe you might be subconsciously challenged by the title, and of the type to just be a jerk, and so you may say this guy sounds the beetles... and the song is trash... or who knows... but just general disagreement.

But I find it honestly impossible to dislike the song... especially if you listen to it more, though there is absolutely no need.

BUt for real, it's so catchy, there's no way you can't be reeled-in in one shot.

    Let me know

Also, this guy that is Tame Impala... his sound is so fuck1ng tight man... as his albums progressed, the mixes became tighter and more poppish... I'm not totally down with where he is right now, although the songs are mostly still super sick... but that first album man... best I think. Innerspeaker.

Yer jokin' right.....sounds like the beetles? or did ya mean The Beatles? Jeezo H in a handbag........

The boringly repetative chords sounded vaguely like a Tears for Fears track (Everybody Wants to Rule the World) who as a band occasional sounded like The Beatles.........this sounds like yer run of the mill average pop pap.

I reckon we must come from different planets moosh, maybe even galaxies.....where I come from you don't need a nice boat race & 'arris to sound good as you can clearly see from my avatar.

For me this is at best meh...

Soft core porn with an OK tune to boot. I find it quite catchy but can't hear the Beatles influence I'm afraid. Maybe it's because I've been a huge Beatles fan since the age of 13 And I'm now 50. Maybe younger folk can hear the similarities!

    agreed

I never understood the hype around Tame Impala and I never will. And it's not a genre-thing so...I dunno. Just doesn't connect with me at all..nothing by Tame Impala ever did.

But: isn't that the exciting thing about the immense variety of music we can enjoy today? If you lust after more poppish stuff like that - it's there! If you want a weird mixture between EDM and Black Metal made by someone in a shed you'll find it eventually...maybe it takes a while even on bandcamp but it'll be there.

What I do think about modern pop is that it has no personality. The 50's through to the 2000's brought us some big personalities and a sense of humour. It exuded charisma in bucket loads. Modern music is so serious and filled with satanic symbolism that I can't stand to watch or listen to it! Pop has lost it's innocent playfulness. Such a shame.

Those people form almost 90 percent of the society that don't think about the music's structure, composer's intentions, etc. Just be a stuff to catch them to sing or dance and they do it forever. They also degrade the art's quality. Do you know what can be done to the people?:dunno:

Unfortunately Pop was created for those people.

I dislike this song. It's okay to watch the video with the sound off, even then, if I want to see boobies I just look in the mirror. I do love Tame Impala, but not this song.

Its ok, nothing memorable or original and blends into the thousands of other tracks I've heard when in shops or gyms. I find that most modern music is too samey, drowning in reverb and is missing a bit of soul. Having looked at the video and one of his others I must say I'm truly shocked at what they can get away with nowadays, I wouldn't want a child of mine watching that and in my day Mary Whitehouse would have had a heart attack seeing that.

the tune was just a calculatedly listenable bit of pop.. with bikinis and action sequences to keep viewer ( listener) interest

my thoughts exactly... I could have given it 5 stars if there had been a few nakie chicks walking around,
    but eh, can't have everything...

A tiny little bit of the Beatles in the vocal, but that's mostly just a function of Parker's voice having a similar register and timbre as John's. I agree with Seedz on the TFF comparison. It's not bad, but it isn't my thing and I'm not compelled to keep listening; if you like it, OP, I'm glad!

I like it. It's one of the better Tame Impala songs i've heard. And come on, the dude basically sounds like John Lennon. Not so much in this, but say, in this
    .
He's also probably using some kind of doubler on his voice, as Lennon did. Either way it's a good, well-crafted song. Some snobs may pretend to dislike it because there isn't enough bdg bdg bdgg guitars or trap hi-hats in it.

I listened to the whole song (maybe I'm a bit masochistic) and probably won't remember it in five minutes. The vid is a typical head-shaking no-brainer, but I really wonder why you ask this question. :dunno:
