I don't dislike the sound. I do like some bands. But there are some ideological aspects on the genre that poisoned some productions at certain moment. But i do like the first and second waves of black metal.

EDIT: LOL this was my '666' coment :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:

just listen to more music ...

recently i listened to a lot of 70s and 80s pop music and its just crazy to see how different is it from EDM

long time ago i made a deep dive into 90s drum and bass music, i listened to a lot of liquid drum and bass before and its very fresh to see all the ideas and compare structures.

if you enjoy it, why not continue ...

Yeah, I feel better now, Magdalena Bay's "Imaginal Disk" saved me. The thing is that I was used to listen many albums in the past years, and that didn't happen in 2024, and I felt that I was lossing sight of the essentials

Expand your horizons, there is so much music to discover every day, if you are bored, the level of your stupidity has already increased. Before you were born, many musicians had already implemented many musical styles. So you can currently access the largest music fund that has ever existed via the Internet.

feeling old when you're about to turn 30? wait until them 50's creep up on you. haha. you'll feel like a cobweb.
Anyways, some of Bowie's catalogue is still in the POP realm, so there's nothing wrong about indulging in a lil' pop.

give a listen to last xmas right after chappell and you'll hear right where she went and got the idea for her top charting song.just like the weeknd and aha.

also, also saw an interview of her (roan) speaking about the song, talking about the writting bla bla, and that her and the cowriter of the song did this and that and spoke of the cowriter by title at least 3 times. Not a shout out of the name of this said cowriter seeing it was a song achieving such a success. if i was this cowriter, i'd be seriously pissed about her not mentioning my name and instead focusing on explaining how this song was about her bla bla and that the cowriter sugested changing good luck jane to good luck babe etc etc.... and not naming the cowritter? hum... reminds me of the immortal poet Meredith Brooks quote, that roan seems to have embraced: I'm a bitch I'm a lover. haha

The brain can convince itself of anything. The more you listed to certain songs the more you like them. This is a well known phenomena known as mere-exposure effect. That's why radio stations bombard people with the same songs over and over again. I can imagine it's pretty easy to get fixated on the genre with the highest amount of bland, cookie cutter songs.

Every genre has its gems, of course, but I presume that you if you dig through trash long enough you always find yourself eventually getting used to the smell.
    Or like this one:

As a teenager, you waited until school was finally over and you were 18 and therefore of legal age.

Back in the early 80s, there were mods, poppers, punks, rock'n'rollers, the Teds and the rockers.
In some parts of town, the rockers hunt the mods, the punks hunt the poppers and of course the other way around.

Today, the woman in the punk outfit sits at the supermarket checkout with her tattoo, which used to only be worn by people in prison or at sea.
In short, today everything is allowed and everything is possible, you have access to pretty much everything that has to do with music.

When I turned fifty, I stopped counting how many years were behind me and started counting how much life I still had left.

Many people listen to the radio at work and cannot be expected to listen to anything strenuous or weird. Their brain waves are in feel-good mode, a catchy simple melody like Da Da Da by Trio or the summer hit to sing along to in the office Don't worry - Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin.

That is our culture, the same game in the evening news, what can we expect the viewer to endure, so the corpses in the war have to be cut out.
