I was on the rapid site in the middle doing a 60+ part download. I have a premium subscription that I purchased directly thru them.

When I opened up the next link's page it looked like i had to log in, instead of just offering the usual immediate download (it had the options you see when you do a free download without premium, for the high or low speed downloads). I went to my email and saw that 4 minutes beforehand my password had been changed. I changed it again and nothing else seems to be out of place, fortunately, but of course now I'm feeling cautious.

Anyone else have this kind of issue with RG? I could be misunderstanding the situation but that really looks like some sketchy ass bullshit right there

 

They do this if you are downloading a bunch of stuff all at once as a precaution.
Mine got changed by them while I was downloading last night.
Checked email for new password and updated password manager and smooth sailing ever since.
I've had rapidgator for a long time and this has only happened twice.

 

They seem to do this all the time for me and its highly irritating.

If im right it cost somthing like 12 a 15 bucks for 180 days and you wil get rapid uploaded and a bunch of other filehosters

 

damn that actually sounds really good. unfortunately, overnight rapid just autopaid for my 2nd month so im still stuck with them for now haha.

it's good i was able to get the info here about how they do the password thing. even last night they did it again but at least this time i knew it was something they just DO, however unusual it is.

 

They do this as a precaution just for you own sake!! Downloading lots of data might be wake up the copyright authorities!!!

how would spontaneously changing someone's password change that? the IP addresses stay the same, the account holder stays the same etc

They change the password because if you are downloading a bunch of files quickly it can look like your password got out or you are sharing your account. Always happens to me when downloading multiple huge kontakt libraries.
