So, I've started to play again today, and found stuff like Canon in D too emotionally robotic but, I came across Yirumi, River Flows in You, (and played it too robotically, but I'm hoping it's cause I'm learning it) and though highly repetitive and I actually don't like how he plays it* it has the interaction of the melody and counterpoint I was interested in, almost like a dance between two ppl that evolved thru the piece. I would like to expand on that model, and play other pieces of similar type.

Anyone know similar piano pieces of this type, or is it unusual?

*the more I hear him play it, the less I like his approach, too pompous, imo, and I think he was a little like I was at 10 on the clarinet protecting my emotive response to music...or it's my mood today, idk.
