They appeared in a movie called Rollercoaster as themselves. They sang two or three songs as part of the funfair which featured the Rollercoaster that someone had planted explosives on..

They really were atrocious. Voices were all over the place and the songs.. my goodness the songs,

 

Yeah I vaguely remember that. That was their Georgio Morodor disco era, not a high point for me either.

no not the Spark Bros, which was quite good. That was a documentary more or less and was quite good, Edgar Wright directed that film.

No this one only has a cameo by Sparks, but they wrote the music and are credited as the writers for the film, its called Annette, its an opera. it opens strong, but being an opera it becomes a tragedy.

what a strange and interesting movie, but no not Rollercoaster. I can't remember if I've seen the whole thing all the way through, if I did it was on cable tv a long time ago... No it was Annette the musical which is really an opera so technically a musical, but not a very happy one..

It has some interesting visuals and some good music, but to no avail as the plot keeps plodding towards doom as tragedy is its driving force. I think they should do a musical version of the sinking of the TItanic or maybe the Destruction of Pompei, that would be an interesting tragedy, the characters in Annette tend to be one dimensional. I watched once, might watch again someday for the visuals and to see if I missed anything, but its a good solid 6.0 on a scale of 10.

Civilization as whole came very near to being snuffed out during that era, was disco a symptom or the cause? Future Phd.s will plant their careers on figuring out what happened to whom and why.

He was never "hired", he was a consultant brought in to sweeten the mix, but wound up peeing in the mixing console. The whole Resigning, you asked about is because, even autotune couldn't fix the vocal meandering across octaves, and when we tried to get AI to fix it, it exploded and killed many American call center worker who were in the same building as the Ai servers. It seemed the only way we'd ever get the song done and released was if he simply resang it, but scheduling has been tough and usually the supplies of liquor and narcotics simply run out before the session can be finished. But good question.

 

I think this thread deserves a proper discussion of "NOTES", probably the most important thing in music, next to musicians and composers. I really can't understand what's holding things up in this regard. Quite puzzling....
