I've been reinstalling windows 10 every 6 months because it always become laggy and buggy.
It seems like i'm downloading too many cracked vsts from the sister site and rutracker..
I tried to download less but it seems like some of thoses bundle and downloads are filled with malwares which slow down my computer.
Or maybe i'm tripping and its for other reasons but i would love to avoid this.
last time i didnt even downloaded that much cracked stuff since i own many plugins but still my computer end up laggy. I know its not hardware related because when i didnt crack anything for a few months ive found no issues and after binge downloading it started fucking up my build.
Also i know antivirus gives false positive but some of the torrent have malwares in them but maybe more so in rutracker ?
Any ideas or opinions on this subject ?

Can't wait to get a mac again i had no shit like that on macos it was flawless 10 yr ago

Windows is designed to get slower by everything you install overtime,
MacOS also gets slower by having lots of stuff installed

PC always slows down a bit after reinstalling.
Windows is a notorious data collector, there is a way to delete unnecessary data with "Disk Cleanup".
Also you should not make the hard disk too full. Do you know the "CCleaner" it is free?
For HDD's you should regularly "Defragment" the free program "DiskSpeedUp" is a very good helpful program.

One or more SSD hard disk bring still some speed thus performance gain.
Against malware you can use the free "AdwCleaner". When I uninstall I delete a lot of things manually.

I would only download from trusted sites. Before I download something that contains a keygen, turn off the antivirus software,
after installing I turn it back on. That the cracked software is contaminated with malware and viruses I can not confirm.

Usually the best you can do after some time has passed and installed many programs:
    - cleaning temp folders and some others. CCleaner, Glary utilities can do it nicely
    - cleaning also the registry
    - cleaning the startup programs that load when windows starts AND their own services, (not regular Windows services)

I highly recommend Glary Utilities for that.

The obvious question I have is, why don't you make backups of all the software you acquire, but without the malware?

I would NOT recommend using a registry cleaner to general users.
They may be useful at times, but ONLY after backing up the system and only for people who are strict about backups and are experienced at restoring backups.

I have used registry cleaners many times to find useless or invalid entries, but not in recent years.
Usually those useless and invalid entries have no impact on performance anyway.

Allowing a registry cleaner to "clean" on it's own without knowing exactly what each item will be "cleaned" and in what way it will be "cleaned" may be a recipe for disaster.

1- Use a custom install. I highly recommend Ghost Spectre or Phoenix Windows.
2- Maybe your SSD is kinda old? Solid state drives lose speed over time, just like your phone internal storage.
3- Do a fresh install, install only the basics. Image/backup that fresh install. When you want to reinstall, you can always have a fast and ready to run backup, but with some software already installed.

I also learned to leave the registry alone. In short, it also has no performance gain. Also the Windows services should be left alone.
The tool that caused the most damage was "Tune Up".The tool I still use is CCleaner to empty the browser cache etc.. Once you have a working/configured system, you should back it up to a 2nd hard drive as a full backup and create an emergency boot disc.

Microsoft's own 'Autoruns' gives you the most complete overview of all the crap that automatically starts with your computer and let's you selectively disable those things. I STRONGLY recommend hiding Microsoft & Windows entries in Autoruns (under Options), so as to not mess anything up. Needs to be started as admin of course!
