Can someone tell me how to get the roland vt 3 super low vocoder sound with a vst on a computer

The opening of the above video or something like the low part of the keep it mello chorus

I've tried pitching down a normal vocoder and it sounds too fuzzy and lacks the clarity but I think it would be a really cool sound for a song I'm doing . Any help would be appreciated.

The boss vt-1, or aira vt-3 (the modern re-issue of the vt-1), is an incredible piece of gear. It's secret is that you can manipulate the formants as well as the pitch, while adding a vocoder to the mix. You can try to rebuild this, or just go for izotope vocalsynth.

That "keep it mello" chorus is basically pitch and/or formant. Don't make it more complex than it needs to be.

Try a simple formant filter. There are even freeware ones. But try Melodyne if you want to go radical and/or high quality.

There are also tricks to pitch the music, and record the vocals at a higher pitch (pitch-shifter on a "music only bus/aux" while recording vocals). Then pitch the vocals down the same amount that you pitched the music up (say 4 or 5 semitones). The pitch shifting down the vocals will automatically change the timbre and tone.
Then you can further add formant to change it even more.
