I love the idea of diving into a style you hate. I think that's a great way of arriving at a crossover song. like yours. do anothor even more country.

 

Here in Sweden we have a term called "dansbandsmusik" (dance band music) which is a unique music style mostly only found in here that can be described as the Swedish version of country music. It's nearly the only music I really really hate so that is why I also hate Country . ABBA's "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" is a kind of dansbandsmusik. That is also why I hate "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X & Avicii's "Wake Me Up".

definitely! i can enjoy or at least respect pretty much all of it from the 90's back.

 

lol that would be a great section! for others who's ambitions and unrealistic project time line projections greatly outweigh their actual capabilities just like me.

like a support group where we call each other out when we over estimate ourselves and keep each other realistic... basically just talk shit to eachother really ha

EXACTLY! you nailed it! those are 2 perfect examples of what i hate about this genre now. i'm all for expanding, merging and progressing genres but old town road is pretty objectively awful to any musician or music lover. but it got more play than literally everything for months...
