Long story short: after reading lots of comments from members of this forum having a dilemma over collecting plugins vs making music, I decided to establish a new philosophy/ethos.

Let's collect/hoard/test without guilt! (as Nietzsche pointed out, feeling sinful is for the weak!). Collecting is fun! Testing is a pleasure! Free yourself from the capitalist (and "old" socialist) productivity ethos! Let's indulge in plugin overload! Less is more is for the weak!

As Baudrillard pointed out, our social world is imploding with signs, codes, etc. (hiperreality). So why put out more shit? The social world is already drowning in and blinded by data noise and sign overload, we do not need more distraction (and today's songs are exactly this: popish noisy distractive shit!!)

Why all this urge for being productive, efficient, acknowledged, recognized and famous by the standards of mass/industrial culture (maybe if you need to pay bills, but there are other less difficult ways)? In this scenario, choice paralysis is not a problem, but a blessing!!!

Come on! Let's enjoy our hoarding and testing playfully without christian or neoliberal guilt! The only overload worth living for is plugin overload! That should be our goal!!!

    Who is with me?

Having fun (or "experimenting" if you're no fun) is a big deal when making music!

Sure, sometimes the sleeves need to be rolled up and some sirius bzns conducted, but it's hardly all that.

I've learnt only one thing for myself: just record everything! Plenty of happy accidents stored, a lot of which comes from installing a new toy and playing around. Sometimes there's something usable, often not. Sometimes that toy graduates to a tool, often it's not for me. But if it were not for trying out, how would I ever know...?

I write music because I love to. I hear it in falling leaves as they stir the muse whispering in my ear, the bark of a dog and the screeching of tires in a parking garage at times are a symphony. I don't generally share my music though.

I don't mean this as an attack...what you are doing is rationalizing for whatever reason for not actually expressing yourself in music. I too am a collector (although discretion has dictated my download choices these last years and I no longer have that craving or want for it all). One does not logically need to "pollute" the social world with distractions of noisy pop but one can still use the many, many tools so readily available to make the music in your Jenny Black soul.

finally a bulletproof wording against Apple+ProTools+Waves combo :hillbilly:

and even more fun is, finding newer release and then deleting the outdated one, almost like rubbing the itch away

You will enjoy hoarding until you have to reinstall the OS and revisiting old projects full of hoarded plugs will become a nightmare cause you'll have to reinstall them one by one for each project, for weeks. A not a very enjoyable situation that I found myself at the moment, I must say.

Maybe you failed to note that this is the humor section :bleh:! (But what to expect from a Superman wannabe wife?)

On a serious note: I actually express myself through music (no attack intended ;)).

(I am just making a little fun with a little critical theory for those who suffer from this dilemma)

Always thought he was too wimpy with those red underpants (or swimming pants?) over that blue costume.
