Huh. The already existing pitch bends in the melody are what stood out to me.

sure there are pitch bends....but if the patch was more edgy they would stand out..
that patch is ok for a chillout track or old school stuff but the intro is more modern and edgy hear the patch in context to the intro..
the track drops cause of the patch ..thats my take...he wanted some ideas ... those were my suggestions..no need for the "huh" :)
    cheers

Yes, I see what you are saying now. Some concise, constructive appraisal there; and I agree with what you've pointed out.
Please don't be offended by my "huh"! That's ridiculous!
It was meant like hmmm or something. There was no question mark; I wasn't being insulting.
What did "huh" mean to you, brother?
And by the way: I'll decide what I can or can't say, eh? lol :winker:

    hey smoove
U're right there was no question mark :)
Cool of u to clear it up.
I used to be a rock guitar player ..did loads of gigs and stuff...but got tired of the sound...the world of synths changed that..
There are many trained musicians (like notsoloud) who can play great..phrase well .. but don't give much importance to sound/patches.
And then there there are some modern electronic "producers" who are basically beginners but get noticed cause they understand sound.
If only players could get more sound oriented the "modern" music world would be better off :)
Best wishes and make some great music!
    cheers

I think you've nailed something down for me. As producers/musicians/philosophers et al, we feel the need to explore and push ourselves into uncharted territory. But if it is forced and feels unnatural, is there really an imperative to conquer a technique that is not coming from the heart but the head. The listener can identify this and it's a red flag waving or a sign saying "Wrong Way Turn Back"

    ^ Totally.
In a way, I'm a cop out. Because I chose to give the talent/employer exactly the genre specific keys sounds and chops for projects, just such that I can carry on gigging. It's worked for nearly 3 decades, but I need to reach out more, as you were doing with this track.
@peter21 has pointed something out there that is relevant.
