Hi, I'm new in the forum. I'm trying to download Omnisphere 2.6.4, and so I expected to find 2 omnisphere dll's: one in the folder with my 64 bit plugins and one in the folder C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit. However, when I open the Spectrasonics folder in ProgramData I only have the STEAM folder and the SAGE folder... should I care about this problem or I can just replace the dll in my 64 bit plugins folder to have omnisphere 2.6.4? Now I'm using the 2.5 version and it works perfectly altough I don't have that folder (and so I think only one dll).

 

you don't really need that folder as long as the vst shows up in your DAW.

 

You can copy the plugin .DLLs to any directory as long as it is in one of the search paths defined in your DAW. This way plugins are found by the DAW and are usable inside the DAW.

For VST2 you can define a standard path wher all pluguins are installed using the registry editor or a script. A standard path can be definde under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VST] VSTPluginsPath as a RegSZ string.

For VST3 there is a predefined standard path, you cannot change.
x86 C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\VST3
x64 C:\Common Files\VST3
