I can't install Fabfilter Bundle

    As the title says, literally, I can't. It shows me two error messages. It's happened since last year. So, I've been stuck with 2020 version. What did I miss?

    Have you tried to run the installer as administrator?

    I just tried it, but no luck. Here is my system info:
    Windows 10 64bit 21H2
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 3.2 GHz
    16GB Ram
    1TB SSD

    It's normally a sign of damaged installation files in which case d/l the RAR/ZIP file again and retry.

    OR, if you believe you have a correct RAR, follow this procedure:-


    0.5) Remove any previous installation of FABFILTER

    1) In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit, then select Registry Editor (Desktop app) from the results.

    2) Right-click Start , then select Run. Type regedit in the Open: box, and then select OK.

    3) On the left open up HKEY LOCAL MACHINE/SOFTWARE Scroll down to the FABFILTER folder and delete it

    4) Whilst still in the SOFTWARE folder scroll down to WOW6432 Node and open it.

    5) Look for another FABFILTER Folder here and delete it

    6) Reboot

    7) Install again

    You should mention which version/build numbers or whatever info you have about the software.
    Your machines specs are more than you need to run any FF plugin.

    Looks like the installer has not the rights to write files to disk.

    Try as Admin again.

    Also you could check if you have any antivirus or malware monitor active and disable it.

    Thanks for the details. I opened the regedit, but there was no Fabfilter. I usually uninstall the software with RevoUninstaller, so there is no reason the registry remains.
    HOWEVER, the method 5 works! I didn't realize there were more Fabfilter folders in the system.

    Try doing a clean boot and run the installer. If it works then, it's probably some third-party software or drivers that are causing the problem.

    Otherwise it might be that the installer is corrupted. But if I understand you correctly you have tried several of Fabfilter R2R installers and none has worked? It would be very weird if all of the Fabfilter installers you've downloaded have been corrupted so I'm sceptical that's the problem here.

    Edit: saw that the problem was already fixed :)
