hey everyone ive been on audioz for awhile but for some reason never registered so i can write on the forum..i just wanted to know how to actually install the right omnisphere with the library everytime i try and get the plugin all good it always says it cant find the steam folder..if anyone could help id really apreciate it i understand im new and asking this right away but thats what forums are for right? help...

 

Soon as you find out let me know because I have been trying to figure that one out for a while and never thought to ask lol!!!!

 

Mac or PC?

 

Lots of people seem to have trouble installing omnisphere.
I have managed first time for both pc and mac.
All I did was follow the instructions exactly.

*Install every dvd in order
*install each update in the correct order
(I used the order shown from air release, http://audioz.info/best-audio-soft/21819-download_spectrasonics-omnisphere-v10_all-updates.html)
*Open your daw and add an instance of omnisphere to a midi track
*Use the kegen included in the most recent update that provides one. if this doesnt work use the next youngest keygen (there are a few)

Also data of this quantity can be corrupted during download. Use a rar utility that tells you what rar part the corruption occured in so you can redownload this part only. e.g for mac, unrarx.

For PC and in win xp sp3 if i recall correctly you must create a shortcut of the steam folder if you have intsalled the lib on a different hd than c: or if it is installed in c:\program files\spectrasonic\steam
(This is for newer updates of stylus RMX also)

And that shortcut must be located at c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\spectrasonic

And you must change the folder option so it accepts hidden files otherwise you want se that folder.

You can do that in tools folder option or if you have a OS tweaking software installed it most certain had that option included.

 

And then when you try to install all of the air updates you have to extract the files and overwrite the content as for some reason the installer never work atleast not for me

 

hate these products which force install libs onto c/user/my docs

C/user/my docs is a stupid idea. that's why i dumped omni, IIRC. I try to run a lean Win drive, and Omni heelps overload it. so stuff em. :D

 

Thats why all my samples and libs are on a seperate 2tb raid. To get the spectrasonics stuff to find it, I just placed a shorcut to the steam folder (I installed mine at D:\program data\spectrasonics\steam) in the C:\documents and settings\all users\application data\spectrasonic, that was mentioned in an earlier post. I remember reading that in the install directions. not sure if it was the .nfo or the REAL install .pdf When all else fails, RTM? meh, before all fails, Read The Manual

Tell you what though, Im loving the fact that I can load all my trilian presets in the x64 omnisphere. so much faster now, especially for those 7x multilayered basses that sound so real
