Hello Guys,

I just experienced a bug on my legit Cubase 14 Pro Update.
I rendered various Midi patterns into audio files and then rendered the complete song.
Then I realized that some audio files are only recorded as shred's. They are not played in their full length in the rendered WAV file.
Anyone else has the same experience? Never had this problem in my Cubase 13 version.

You are using legir or k'd ?
Im using R2R version everything is great !

Anyone who used Cubase WAYyyyyyyyyyy back..... would have come across a few versions where the hacked versions were more stable than the legit versions. I know that does not help you as it looks, but as a test, download the other and see if it fixes the issue? If not then it is possibly something in your configuration(s).

 

Somethings just make you wounder.

 

Was your version of C13 cracked or legit? As a user of steiny stuff from way back I can vouch for the "cracked==more solid than legit" credo as being quite accurate.

 

What is a "shred"?

you "render in wave tracks" the "new midi pattern track", then you have all "normal audio tracks" then you export the whole song as a bunch of normal audio tracks and you have "shred's"? it means glitches and dropouts?

I regularly read official cubase forum and there's nothing about that, please report more infos and screenshots. I will go and take a look at the official boards later.

 

I know some devs dislike R2R but the thing is, more often than not, they get rid of a pile of unused heavy code that slows the app down.
I am not saying to anyone do not buy your most liked app, far from it. Even R2R says 'support the good developer" - I am saying that you know there's a problem with an app when any hacker gives away a version of the app that is more stable than the official released version.

Really, it's not quite clear what you mean with "shreds".
Is it the case that the pieces are mutilated or cut off? Is that what you mean?

I installed C14 legit and R2R side by side now,
placed some MiDi in a track
rendered them in place
Bounced
Imported the Audio into another track

It sounds exactly the same and the audio is exactly as long
The in place rendered Audio parts are exactly as long as their Midi predecessor are

in legit and R2R version.

Looks like this bug was reported back in the end of May, and people still have issues with it? I guess it's not just a small bug if it takes this long for them to work it out. I wonder if it's the renderer itself that is the issue, or if it's the comping system.

 

there is a horrible cubase bug where plugins dont open correctly. they look like effects with number instead of the interface

 

There Is One That I Found In Cubase 13 i Can Record a MIDI Part And Then I Can Drag And Drop It From The Cubase 13 Time Line To My Mac Desktop BUT In Cubase 14 It Dose Not Work I Hope That Gets FIXED I Know You Can Export As MIDI But It Is Faster To Drag And Drop

 

If you are using a legit licensed Cubase installation, why are you posting this on random forums where no one can help the issue? You need to go open a ticket with Steinberg and send them your appropriate log files and related info, so the actual people that can fix this can resolve it. Im on the Steinberg Forums all day long, don't recall seeing anything of the sort there, so it sounds like you've got some work to put in, if it's a legit bug.

Which versions should that have been? Cubase wasn't cracked after VST 5 if I remember correctly and then started again with 12 or 13 when they got rid of the dongle? I had a lot of friends complaining that the cracked 13 was not stable while my legit Pro version was experiencing minimal issues with crashes or bugs.

Edit: I also remember there was a dongle emulation for some time but that didn't work very well and crashed all the time.

Cubase Version 3 and version 4, the latter was horrendously unstable. I have been using Cubase since ATARI 1024ST days as well as Notator (Which became Logic, Logic Audio and now just Logic again). H20's versions worked perfectly if you followed their instructions (like R2R's - implicit). Yes you are correct mostly. Cubase 7 was badly cracked but 5 was the last stable cracked version prior to the removal of elicenser. Nonetheless I have purchased many upgrades. (I did say WAYyyyyy back )

EDIT
It is worth noting that I think AiR probably could have done it if they chose to. The reason I suggest this is because they released a near perfect Absolute 5 hack to the elicenser while the dongle was still the only form of authentication.
