How did anyone managed to make music before this came out.

George Martin must be looking down on us and pissing himself with laughter.

a mere... MSRP of $10,000, but actual prices from re-sellers can creep up to $13,000 ahahahaha no thanks :D

I don't think any normal usage would need that amount of RAM or that count of processors.
I've got a HP Z820 Workstation with 2x8 XEON cores hyperthreading at 32 cores and 64GB RAM.
And you know what? It is really not much faster than my old Quadcore with 16GB RAM when it comes to Audio processing. Or 3D operations.
Best was to invest in better graphics and SSD.

The thing is, that most programming problems are not so easy to devide into several threads. This is necessary to use more than one core at the same time (real parallel processing).
So if we buy these CPU/RAM monsters, our machines will be faster only some (3 to 5) percent compared to say quadcores when we use a DAW and just a little more, when we render out audio.
    .
What we sorely need is NOT more RAM and processor power, we need way better software not only as @recycle said at OS level but a MASSIVELY improved threading technology not only in audio software.

And that's something for programming scientists not for simple coders.

Alot of cores, I wonder how is the Singlecore Performace which is quite important for some DAW things ...

... and waaaaayyyyyy better threading strategies in OSs, but also in Programming systems and at the other end in the DAWs.
Problem is, this is a more scientifical or mathmatical problem.
And companies don't invest enough into basic (computer) science because breakthroughs in this field most likely won't be patentable or monetizable.
I'm quite sure, with enough will for real innovation, this HP-monster could be >100 times faster than a single core machine. But without the science needed, it's only four times as fast.

Companies invest more in polishing old shit.
So instead of operating a the speed of light, we'll get new background colors and stylish sliders instead:facepalm:
