I have a MU1000 and was curious how I would go about connecting it to XGedit so I could fully control all the XG parameters easily from my laptop and preferably have it somehow connected to a workstation like bitwig or logic or cubase? There are some editing capabilities on the hardware itself but a software editor is likely much easier and faster to manage so long as it can be properly set up, and until someone makes a dedicated editor plugin that can access all the sysex and XG parameters there’s not much I can use now

 

I used XG-Edit 95 (released on sister site also) for both Yamaha DB50XG and SW1000XG although it can be fiddly and annoying to setup through Cubase. Obviously you would need to connect Midi In and Midi Out to Ports on your PC and I think I also used some MultiMidi Program for the extra ports for working through my DAW Cubase but cannot remember the name of the software. I think basically just try it first without the DAW and see if you get sound once you play around with the Midi In and Out Ports in XG-Edit.
[Sound Quest Midi Quest 12 Pro v12.1.2-R2R] was released on sister site and not long after all the .sqz files which contains the Yamaha MU100.sqz ... if that is the same as yours? (I don't know)
The all .sqz files for Sound Quest Midi Quest was named: [Sound Quest Midi Quest 12 ALL .SQZ Files]

Edit: For MultiMidi you can use Multimid, loopMidi, MidiYoke and MidiOX (whichever works nowadays probably loopMidi I would go with and the one I've used which worked:

XG-Edit 95 has a bug not running XP
(update for XP) has a big bug. Not showing all the instruments for some devices.
You need full XG-Gold (very hard to find), PM , I have it
:P

 

(there was also XG-Wizard never cracked)
