How to: Voice Effect like in "Kathy's Song"

    Anyone knows how to do this? it starts in the video at 2:55

    Is it a speech synthesizer? If yes, anyone can suggest a software?
    dont think its a vocoder, but someone of you guys knows sure better :)

    I read that Console used a speech program on his atari back then and he also uses celemony a lot (not sure if true)
    and limp bizkit's effect on 'behind blue eyes' is also the same?

    anyway, I'm mostly interested of the effect in the first song.

    That's a vocoder (with noise for the "t" and "s" sounds). The second one is a speech synth, or made to sound like one.

    I disagree. First one sounds alot like Melodyne-processed MS TalkIt (AKA TalkAny)! (singing girl preset). It's freeware for PC.

    Btw, Kathy's Song by Simon & Garfunkel is amazingly beautiful, so I was a bit turned off when the question was about something much less beautiful.

    Wow of all the songs. I saw the title in the AudioSex feed and my stomach tied up in a knot. Played it a few times and my ex really liked it and so now it's permanently ingrained in my brain and associated with her. And I hate that bitch. :rofl:
