I make a little filehack and got the K4 Lib in K5 to run, i have no clue why they remove the support but now u can use it again :P

extract it to ur lib dir and add the folder with k5, should be run under macos²

I put your files in the Kontakt 4 library (in the shared files) On mac, it works, Kontakt 5 can load it. And finally I can delete my Kontakt 4 application.

How is this any different from the reg trick?? And if you do not know why they dropped support for the older libraries then you should learn more about Kontakt.

 

the reg trick dont work with k4 libs in k5, ive modded the nict file and so its works for both platforms and is easyer to handle than edit in the reg, ive added alot of libs with this to my kontakt 4 but i still have the problem thaht i cant see it in k5.
i know that k5 have a new Lib which is bigger, okay must be not better but i think its shall be no problem to use the k4 in k5?, or better why k5 dont accept the nkx from the lib?

 

I added K4 library and many others old libraries in K5 using the method mentioned by Mykal and everything works great!!!

Your wrong the reg trick works in kontakt 5 but there is a difference
Now you got to enter a k2lib number under 1000 i.e k2lib 0788 and dont forget the 0 i wrote k2lib 788 first and the lib didnt show up then i tried 0788 and then it showed up

worked great on mac!! but heres my question.. is there a way i can edit the k4 nictnt file and change it so i can let say import neo-soul suitcase. i have a pc if it can only be done on pc

 

u need only a hexeditor, u must change the follow things

name on 8 place
id 1 place (offset 246)
and the 2 hashs (2d3 and 304)

 

Using K5.0.1 on Mac

When I add the K4 Instrument Library, it shows up but then when I restart K5 it is no longer there and I have to re-add it again.. This happens with both the AU Plugin and the standalone version.. All the rest of my older K4 Libs register correctly and stay put even after restarts..

Also, when I look at the info bar at the bottom of the Kontakt screen and I select one of the K4 Instrument Library Instruments, is shows "No Library" but with all of my other K4 (and K5 for that matter) Libraries, it shows the name of the Library the Instrument or Combi is in....

Anyone know why and how to fix this?
