    @Barry T

    What do you dislike about the Alam Watts talk, discerning minds would like to know.

    Fair question. Alan Watts was an immoral, womanizing, alcoholic, narcissistic liar with a penchant for empty moral platitudes. Don't take my word for it, feel free to look this up.

    He is one of the myriad of self-proclaimed gurus who peddle New Age rubbish. To anyone with a modicum of intellect and sense, it is quite obvious how his ramblings lead to nothing but a feeling of empty confundment.

    Charm and a pleasant speaking voice are not replacement for sound moral foundations and doctrine.

    Until we're dead, I guess. After that, we continue to update as dead.... we gas out, decompose, etc.

    The adequate answer to your thread title might therefore be:
    "DIE BART, DIE!"

    I also like Charles Bukowski who also had a way about his narration. I never have felt an "empty cunfundment" whilst listening to either, and Bukowski was every bit immoral, womanizing, alcoholic, a narcissistic liar with a penchant for empty moral platitudes as Mr. Watts.

    I've never looked at either of them for lessons of moral foundation and doctrine, rather, I've seen my own reflection in their works, myself being an imperfect being as both of those two have professed to be, and found them to be educational to my creative pursuits, teachers during my lifelong road of crafting with the materials at hand and at my disposal. I see them both as great orators pounding rocks of wisdom under a hot summer sun until it sets at the end of a long grueling day, only to grip the hammer once more to pound away anew as that sun washes away the darkness of the night.

    Sound moral foundations are not a replacement for charm and a pleasant speaking voice. Anybody claiming the former is probably immoral, womanizing (or manerizing:winker:) an alcoholic, a narcissistic liar with a penchant for empty moral platitudes. I've seen plenty of that. :rofl:
