you change your main operating system which would either force you to download another 1800 plugins for different platform, or quit,
another option is to wipe your computer which would either force you to reinstall everything, or quit,
you can try categorizing everything, or just delete everything and start over again,
you can find anything else to fill your drives with (music, porn, whatever...) which would force you to start deleting those plugins as a lower value space-waster

It's not about the plugins themselves, but about the tendency to hoard stuff. I manage plugins much like my old cable boxes: they stay until they start acting strangely, then I delete them. This cycle will persist until my SSD fails or cable boxes are finally phased out.
(If you store old PC hard drives with project files, keep a list of the plugins you used in those projects and store their installers with that computer for later use)

It's a syndrome—downloading plugin after plugin without actually doing anything or learning how to use them properly. You don’t need tons of compressors. Just one of each type, or learning to use something like the FabFilter C2 well, is more than enough. You don’t need 300 delays, 300 choruses, or 300 distortion plugins. Focus on making music.

Your comment kind of disproves your own point. If you subscribe to the idea that only 5 compressor types are relevant, and you already understand them and compression as a basic fundamental audio processor type; what is there about the variants to "learn to use them properly"?

These are audio plugins we are discussing in the thread, and they are not rocket science. You can evaluate a new compressor plugin in 15 minutes or less if you actually understand what they are doing. If you don't, then Pro-C2 is indeed the one for you. Everything is right there in front of your face on the GUI. The only thing it doesn't do is listen to its effects for you.

You stop it when you become an advanced producer.

Especially Cymatics ones. One listen and you'll immediately stop what you're doing!

The best way is to recognize (admit) that most of them do the same thing and you only need a few bundles.

I think 99% percent of production can be achieved with Arturia Collections for synths/FX, Kontakt for real instruments. That already covers everything.

Also admit that you are not spending your valuable time learning something deeply/well or improving your ability to make music.

Otherwise, keep lying to yourself, and your computer.

Exactly. That's when one of your assistants who read your emails for you will download all the free plugins you get sent on a daily basis.

If your goal is having millions of bitmap pictures of synths you can't afford on your computer, these are great.

I thought that I was the only one finding their sample pack useless and wacky.
