Create a midi track and set the midi input to the device that has the keyboard plugged into it, then set the midi channel on that track to "any" or "all"
Select the track and it will be record enabled, press record, then play the keyboard.

I made a recording playing my Yamaha PSR real time arranger.

    All the midi data was recorded to one track which i then "disolved" the part ( a single track ) into 8 tracks : 1, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.

The only problem i am trying to resolve is that nearly all the parts are playing "piano" sounds and not the instruments sounds that were played by the real time arrange: eg. horns or strings.

Help/guidance would be extremely appreciated please.

    Hello,

That is because you have all your MIDI tracks assigned to the same instrument and they all have the same program value.
You need to select the MIDI data on that track, then open the List Editor.
To open the list editor go to: MDI > List editor, and you have to insert a program change.
You can also do it through the key editor on the controller selections and function.
Instead of velocity select program change and then enter the value accordingly to the sound you want.

This Wiki article might help you understand what a program change is:

    Best regards,
    GN
