Hi, How can I use the plugin with Ableton’s plugins. I would like to check the cramping of bell curve in Eq 8.

Use Bertom's EQ Curve Analyser from https://www.bertomaudio.com It's free, and it'll show freq response and phase of anything you can sandwich a pair of plugin instances around - which should include EQ8

Thank you for Bertom’s plugins. I didn’t know them. Anyway, I wonder how Blue Cat's PatchWork would work with loaded EQ 8. If it loads DAW’s built-in plugins as it is described.

What it probably means by that, is that it'll tell plugins the genuine host's 'host string' which some plugins used to determine if they're qualified to run in the host, even though they're standard VSTs (Cakewalk's bundled Breverb/TH-U/Melodyne is like this, as are a lot of the plugins bundled with mixcraft), but I don't think it'll be able to host ableton or FL native-format plugins themselves.

(Checks FL, it can't load FL's .dll native plugins, so I doubt ableton is any luckier...)

edit: there is one exception to that, PatchWork *CAN* load the FL DirectWave .dll as a VST, but... that is functionality that IL always intended to be there, they only broke the ability to load it in other hosts by accident around 12.8 or so (vsthost can also load it, but I've previously never got it to load in another full DAW)

edit 2: lol, it can load DirectWave, and load Libraries within DirectWave, but no audio output, so whatever they broke is broke here too, sorry to any future browsers that end up here googling a way to make DirectWave work as a VST again.

"The cramping of -insert eq name here- bothers me, so I'll pick -insert eq name here- that I can clearly hear it doesn't cramp the high end." - No one, ever

but yeah, jump into cramping, aliasing, analog etc. bandwagon of the "music alchemists"*

*these would be people that for centuries try to get a good sound using only the best oversampled analog emulations with no cramping inside 96 KHz SR projects but also with no proper monitoring and ear training. legend says they still trying

Oh, I forgot that somewhere I read that a whole FL Studio instance can work as plugin. Don't know the details, maybe is related to that and also their discontinued vsthost.

My interest in the subject was inspired after watching Dan Worrall's video "What's Wrong With Stock Plugins? Ableton Live EQ8 vs FabFilter Pro Q3"

I can't sort out his way of connecting Ableton and PluginDoctor. I don't have any audio interface at this moment but a virtual connection in the system, Windows 10.

@lxfsn Why not? Did you read my question? Answer if you can. Don't distract me with the no-point posts Mr All&AboveCritic

PS. I have just sorted out the routing ABleron-PluginDoctor. With the help of Virtual Cable and
restarting both applications. Thanks for your advice.

PS2. @Quantised Noise Special Thanks for showing me the charm of Bertom!!!
