    Hi all
i want to modulate the tempo of Ableton with an LFO in the range from 56 to 68 BPM in the Arrangement view But when i map an Audio Effects LFO or Midi LFO (which one must i use ? Audio or Midi ?) to the Tempo then the Tempo jumps so wild in 100er steps up and down its also so even i reduce the depth of the LFO it jumps so wild up and down
I know the master Track has a Automation lane for that......but i want to modulate it randomly with an LFO
    Where is my mistake ?
    Thank you in advance

Using the Max for Live LFO I just managed to do just that. Map the LFO to the song tempo by doing the following:

    1. Click the Map button on the LFO.
    2. Click the song tempo or BPM in the upper left corner and you should immediately see the tempo going crazy with the default sinus curve of the LFO.
    3. Set the percentage range in the LFO to match the BPM. 3.25% - 5% is around that area you want. Finetune to match your preferred range.

doesn't really matter that much if you use audio or midi, you cannot put the midi effect in an Audio track or vice versa.
what matters is the mapping and thats a global one, so..

there are a couple of LFO's to choose from, depending on your library/packs/live version.
and another gazillion from max4live.com :)

if you need exact range from 56 to 68 you have to type in exact values.

for 58 BPM min type in 3.88151
for 68 BPM max type in 4.90296

Max Api Ctrl1LFO from the M4L Building Tools shows you the max and min BPM values resulting from your input.

if you see the BPM numbers move, it is working.

maybe your range is too small to hear it, try exaggerated min/max values.

It's not working for me neither. The playback tempo clearly doesn't change although I can see the global bpm move. Any help?
