Basically how to Jack up the volume & DRC it
    >compress it
    >clip it
    >limit it
    That's almost half the process.

Mastering is way more complicated than what many people seem to think. It's not just about increasing the loudness of the mix, you have to know how dynamics work, you have to master in an adequate room without any reflections/echo. Sure, you can just ad some compression, clipping and a limiter, but it's not enough for a client who is looking for top sound quality.

There is also a 62-page pdf and it's free.

While it may not be for everybody, for others it might serve as a quick introduction to mastering.

Just putting it out there

    From the intro ..

"Having worked as a professional mastering engineer for many years, using “home-recording grade” equipment to master tracks for radio, TV, and film, I can show you how it’s done without all the fancy gear. I’m here to tell you that you can learn to master your own music, and while it may take years to become a genuine ‘master’, I want to show you the shortcuts to getting commercial quality results in a fraction of the time."

I think it's clear that he is not attempting to rival Bob Katz at this stage, but it may be interesting for somebody who want's to dip their toes in before deciding to take it further.

there are different types of mastering that require different skills... sometimes its only 1 step, sometimes its 1000 steps...

but if ur using 1000 steps to fix a basic mix, then there is something wrong with the mix. Good masters shouldnt use much, it should just add a touch...

now things like mastering for radio/broadcast or surround, that's another different thing that I have no clue about... maybe its not different i just know nothing about it...

Yep I agree with that. I gotta say that Rob's tutorial is very well made and pleasing to the eye.
