I would like to understand how this short horn part is done. Question are:
There is a trumpet and a sax only? Or also trombone? Or more saxes?
Also it looks that the sax is sound playing higher notes than the trumpet, i don't understand if it happens all the times or only the first sustain note...
Thanks in advance! I am getting crazy trying to replicate this with sample/audio modeling brass, so far it come very close, but my hear is still not very good trained to listen to horn sections and understand which hbrass is doing what..

 

Really not that difficult. You have already heard what is happening per instrument. Now listen closer.
The sax is bending notes in somewhat of a Blues/R&B style.
The trumpet is playing a more linear pattern with soft vibrato (Mexican trumpet style?)

 

Thanks Man! And is the sax playing harmonized higher note only the first sustain note or all of them? The first note is clear to me , the rest I am not sure..

 

Listen carefully. The trumpet has a more even/rounder tone.

 

Yea Man... i finally manage to do that tone playing at piano dynamics..The trupet is almost sorted out...the sax I am still not sure...
