The Lauv is definitely an acoustic (double-bass) sample. Something like UJAM Mellow would cop this effected upright sound great. The first one sounds more like a simple 808-bass...sine wave type. (Although there are spots where it could be layered? - almost has an acoustic finger-noise attack...)

Yep, that's what I thought too. Could've been made with Trilian - both of them. OTOH, a double bass played with very low velocity has hardly any harmonics means, sounds close to a sine wave.
