You see? Someone already disagreed with you. Pineapple pizza is the debate of the century.

    i pretty much agree

Actually have no problem with people using solely computers to create music if they were using it in some sort of creative and unique way that would require some genuine skill and creativity. But the reality is most people aren’t doing that.

I play quite a few instruments that I’ve learnt since I was a kid, so people always think it’s some kind of music snobbery when you criticise supposed musicians using sample packs and whatnot and calling it a song they have created. I just don’t see any merit and real talent in downloading sample packs and setting it to a simple beat you have drawn in on a software and calling it a composition.

Besides, the amount of time people spend downloading gigabytes upon gigabytes of sample packs and rifling through them to find a loop that sounds cool, they probably could’ve just bought a MIDI keyboard and learned some chords and a bit of theory and create something unique to then instead of a sample pack loop that probably another 500 people have used.

Of course if people enjoy doing that, then fill
your boots, but I don’t consider it to have much musical merit.

Musicians by definition are those that actually play an instrument and or/have the cred of other musicians.

    From Oxford Languages
Definition 1: A person who plays a musical instrument, especially as a profession, or is musically talented.

    From Cambridge Dictionary
Definition 2: Someone who is skillex in playing music, usually as a job.

So, if you don't have chops and cannot actually play an instrument you don't have the right to call yourself a musician. If one uses others stems and samples there could be another name like musical mozaicist or something else, but for sure not a musician. A producer is another ridiculous thing to call oneself. Quincy Jones, Rick Rubin, George Martin...and the dude who downloads construction kits and canned beats.

    Rant over.

pineapple pizza would only be an issue if it became so popular and well liked by people that it started shoving artisan, quality, actually good tasting pizzas out of existence... thats what happens when the internet becomes flooded with amateur bullshit clown music and saturates the whole industry and pushes actual talent down a hole never to be heard...

(i believe if you asked for a pineapple pizza in Italy, the restaurant owner would chase you out with a broom)

I'm ok with the autotune layers but I had to downvote you over the pizza. That's abomination, I can't put it in any less strong terms.

I'm afraid if you're going back to dictionary definitions of musicians then your dictionary is probably out of date.

Technology simply lowers the barriers to entry.
I've no problem people who makes "beats" calling themselves a producer.
More accurately most are bedroom producers, unless they command sufficient income from charging for their services/music to make a living from.
Similarly I have no problem with anyone with a camera phone calling themselves a photographer.... again same criteria.... if they are making sufficient income from selling their "art".

E minor is quite interesting in that you can get any old guitar and tune it's lowest E string down. From there you can find the E minor chord.

And from there, a whole rabbit hole of harmony ensues...

If you're recording a song it can be assumed that it contains some instrument/s that play chords or some kind of melody. If you can tell us which are the chords or notes playing it will be easier to understand your problem and give an advise. Are you sure your song is in E minor? It could be a scale which contains most but not all the notes that compose the E minor scale, e.g. A minor or B minor (or the relatives G Major/ D Major).

If you have a sequencer or notator - load any MIDI file and change the key to E minor.
