Hi,

I load a small vocal snippet in my kontakt player.

i want it to play "endless" or "forever", u know? with sustain very high.

So I can play it like a synth.

but I dont know how to do it - increasing the sustain did not work.

it should sound like here:

but they (the guys in the video) do not mention how they did this sustain thing.

I didn't watch the video, but the general concept requires setting a loop point in the sample wherever the vowel you want to sustain is.

The consonants at the front of the word are more-or-less like the attack stage, then you can sustain the vowel however long you want by looping it, then the consonant at the end is the release.

It doesn't have to be a vowel, but using a consonant or full syllable will result in a stuttering effect instead of a singing effect.

"T-T-T-T-T-today junior!"

The trick to the technique is to loop the vowel sounds in vocals, as these will naturally hold better when sustained.

...and the vocal used in the lean on track is a sample from one of the vengeance sample packs.... Google it.

 

for real? i was pretty sure they used the vocal line from the singer "Mo" in order to do this effect.

well I did it with ableton sampler, it was much more easy. still the kontakt player has some great features the ableton sampler does not have.

so maybe someone can explain to me how it is technically done in the kontakt sampler.

I understand the thing with the vowel of course!
