Does anyone know how Front 242 did their basslines e.g. as in...

Was it programming? A sequencer? ..?

    Thanks for any hint!

Thanks fraifikmushi! But I'm more interested in what they used for 'programming' their basslines.
To me it is repetitive, so was it probably an arpeggio/sequencer they programmed and then played with one finger?

Doesn't FM8 (NI) have an arpeggio?

No arpeggio, but a sequence it is for sure. Fill one or two bars with sixteenth, then alter the pitches by not more then 3 half-notes up and 2 half-notes down. Ex. filled D, set accents to C, D#, F
Now alter midi velocity but don't route it to amplification, but to a filter and you're done.
