how do i make my 808's noticeably pump?

pumping, real dirty pumping, i guess it's something like heavy compression, but i don't know how to recreate this. i've been using logic compressor btw. if there are better plugs that do the job better, please let me know also. on something like 140 bpm the pumping would be, subtle, but noticeable and somewhat rhythmic like the sound of when you open logic stereo delay, but only the first 3 or 4 delays.

i think i heard it in an old miami bass track. idk. sorry for the vagueness, i'm just saying what i heard in a song and am trying to recreate...

    thanks

You should read about (or watch videos about) compressor sidechaining.
