As most Waves users know, VST2 support has been removed with v15. This makes it very problematic to load old projects which still depend on VST2 after v15 is installed, as any Waves Audio VST2 plugins will not be found.

Here is a technique for updating to the latest Waves release which is VST3 only, and also provide the ability to load old projects which depend on VST2.

This has been been tested with Windows 11 and Cockos Reaper 6.x, but should work with any setup which supports the packages below.

- Install dependencies: C++ 2012 (x86 & x64), C++ 2013, C++ 2015-2022, and Edge Webview2.

- Install "Waves.Ultimate.v2024.09.25.Incl.Emulator-R2R" (or newest v15 R2R release)

- Install "Waves.Complete.v2019.07.10.Incl.Emulator-R2R" (last available v10 R2R release, can coexist with v15, and provides VST2 x86 & x64): Uncheck everything except VST2 during installation.

For truly ancient projects with DirectX plugs, install "Waves.Mercury.Complete.VST.DX.RTAS.v1.01.HAPPY.NEW.YEAR-AiR"
