how to fat without distortion

    you can use plugins to give it that "phat" or "ooomph" i'm thinking you want, but it's all really in the mixing if you want it properly done without distortion. by distortion i mean sounds being overkilled and the track being/looking like a fat sausage.
    i see the other "distortion" people are talking about which is distortion/alot of excited sounds on synths and drums which alot of electronic music has.

    not sure if that helps, just got out the hospital from being dehydrated as f*ck so my heads not all there.

    the monitors or headphones you're using might be messing with your ears as well,maybe giving you too much low end and you think thats the true sound so u cut them frequencies and once u test it else where it sounds completely off.

    yeah nice tips thank u guys, someone says the fatness comes from the mixdown. Any more tips on that? Like its so big and huge, and i believe it has something to do with background fx and china cymbals and stuff but i cant figure it out.
