hello everyone

im new to mac and cracking vsts in generally (just switched from ipad).How do i merge multi part Vsts and make sure they run properly. I've had issues with this and just out right confusion.
May someone help me on this?!

 

Elaborate on the multi-part. Are you talking about VSTi's that are broken up into multi-part archives like RAR or 7z? If yes, you need to download all parts FIRST, then on the file marked as the first file of the series (i.e. ".001", ".part1", etc...) right click on it and tell the archiver app to "extract here" or "extract to //folder/xyz". As long as all the parts are present and accounted for you'll start to see the files for the VST (or whatever it is) appear in that same folder or the target folder you selected. At that point they should be ready to install.

In a lot of cases the install packages will be archives within archives. If you happen to get one of those just keep on with the same process as described above...

If you are going to use Logic, it does not support VST plugin formats. Only .Component AU (Audio Units) are supported in Logic, unless you are using a wrapper like Patchwork or Komplete Kontrol, etc.

If you use Keka you can double click any part of a multi-file archive, and it will extract them all. There are a few old groups who still zip every part of a rar archive separately, so .rar, .r01,.r02 etc, all need to be extracted from the zip files first. Then you have to do it the other way, just to get the rar files all inside the same folder. https://www.keka.io/en/
