    Hi guys,

How to design this bass sound? It sounds so fat and punchy. It is obviously a saw osc.

I would like to hear your opinions and tips. Thanks in advance.

The bass starts playing at 01:00

If it's "obviously a saw osc" you might want to distort it, bandpass it and layer it with a slightly saturated sine.

i think you should try design the envelope attack and the pitch envelope. In my opinion the pitch changes. And what they have said above

Because I hear it as two layers: one that is a bandpassed type with the harmonics, and one is a more lowpassed and overdriven/saturated sine. The bandpassed "upper layer" avoids excessive overlapping with the fundamental of the sine.

The ducking (volume) is so extreme so there is no need to do specific frequency ducking. You could almost do alternating 8th-notes (kick, bass, kick, bass, etc) and add some attack and sustain on the bass synth(s).

I don't know which sound you are referring to. The "FM-ish hitting railpipe" or the vocal "ah!"?

Thanks for your reply pal.The "FM-ish hitting railpipe-ish",yes.I think we hear a variation of this sound at 5:20 layered up to the bass synth.
