Hi all! First, this seems to be a great forum, very much usefull informations here!

Thanks alot for this script, it works flawless with the newest Kontakt version. I remember the days where i had to wrote the commands manually into the specific files. I will try it now with my own Libraries but i guess it will work. So, thanks again and make more music! :)

Hi, this is a great thread

I have made a custom library and it worked fine... until... I gave it to a friend who is using Kontakt 5 Player. He got the library into Kontakt and it worked to begin with but after some weeks Kontakt required a serial number (the instrument gets greyed out when he loads it from the library tab and Kontakt says that it needs to be activated). He can see at his Service Center to that it is not activated (I can also see that, in my service center, for my account but I can still run the instrument).

Any ideas how I can help my friend? :)

    Thanks but...

That is not an option that he would like

I also want the plugin to work for more people in the future without having them to download an additional cracked version

How come that it works for me when I have the "real" Kontakt ( version 5.3.1.37)?
He got a fresh Kontakt 5 Player, downloaded for just some weeks ago

Sorry it doesn't work that way, they are separate plugins:

    Full:
    Kontakt 5

Free aka Demo(For certain libraries that require a full Kontakt):
    Kontakt Player 5

There is countless information about this topic you can find in this forum

    hello folks...

about libraries not showing at the second kontakt opening.
the trouble can comes from the SNPID you used (Serial Number Protected ID) or a wrong regedit key.

you can use a valid one from the service center updated.
actually 2 only are in "AuthSystem none" mode
    Code:
        <Name>Xpress Keyboards</Name>
    <AuthSystem>None</AuthSystem>
    <SNPID>466467</SNPID>

    <Name>B4 Xpress</Name>
    <AuthSystem>None</AuthSystem>
    <SNPID>464465</SNPID>
using one of these will show the library.
you can also verify/repair the file in programme files/common files/native instruments/service center/YOUR REG NAME LIBRARY.xml

not showing one's will create files 1.xml, 2.xml, 3 xml,...etc eatch time you add the not working lib, you can clean(deleted them) and repair the first one only using a good number.

try to use RAS1, RAS2 numbers, check the .xml generated in the service center also the name of the nicnt used by regedit HKCU , when adding a library.

other little joke... kontakt also read nicnt.bak files ( some text editors as "edit plus" also make a nicnt.bak file in the saved file folder)it can trouble the registration.

you must be carefull on this fact, use only a text file will not contain the native instrument hidden code.
winrar will show it. try to not move the original structure, keep a space line between </Product> and </ProductHints>.

SNPID number is used by the kontakt player, if you add the key as a k2lib (in regedit HKLM/native intruments/content, it will also show the library). xml registration+k2lib key will show 2 libraries of the same product.

normally it should works better now.

You've got problems when two (or more) libraries share the same SNPID.

With three hex digits, risks of SNPID collisions are real (in particular for custom nicnt files coming from different users). Three hexadecimal digits offer 4096 possibilities (not millions, mate!). Also keep somewhere in mind: some SNPID ranges are reserved and can't be used for custom nicnt, anyway!

For Kontakt libraries I have, I've referenced all used SNPIDs in Excel spreadsheet.

Some custom .nicnt files found over the net have 4 (or more) digits, it's stupid because, in this case, only the first 3-digits (from left to right) are used when you add the library, and extra digits are simply ignored! Example you set 4531 as SNPID for yout custom Kontakt library, exactly like this in nicnt file: <SNPID>4531</SNPID>, when you add the related library, Kontakt assumes the SNPID is 453 and not 4531. Try it then take a look in generated XML file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center, you'll be surprised!

Also I've read somewhere on AudioSexPro (post by Olymoon, if I remember) other N.I. products such Guitar Rig also use SNPIDs! I'll try to install (on fresh OS) a full KOMPLETE 9 Ultimate to confirm this fact.

It's very late reply, but: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1148602905-3542956945-694617193-1000 you've mentioned is probably (99.999999%) the copy of your HKEY_CURRENT_USER key!

I mean S-1-5-21-1148602905-3542956945-694617193-1000 is the Windows SID linked to your current Windows logon/user account, BTW this keys is useless (also all are located inside HKEY_USERS, in general).

    Works!
I still have to create a matching .xml for SC.
I've always had to do that for my customs.
It's the only way they'll stick for good.
Regardless, the script is very nice and shaves time off the workload.:like:

    Thanks for sharing!
    VERY handy applescript friend.:mates:

    Hi guys!

I've recently made "NICNT Generator" for macOS :excl::) Try it, and let me know, if it works for you :)

    Enjoy!

Is there a NICNT scanner that scans all your libraries so you can make a non conflicting nicnt, or how do you guys check it out?
