How to create nicnt file?

    I just updated to Kontakt 5.4.2

    Now my SESSION STRINGS tab says it can't find an "nicnt" file.

    Session strings worked on Kontakt 5.3 but now it doesn't load.

    Is there a way to build your own nicnt or other file to be able to get SESSION STRINGS to work in Kontakt 5.4.2?

    Yeah it's a good tut, but it means going into the Windows Registry, we shouldn't recommend messing in there unless you really know what you're doing.

    I don't think it's that complicated (messing with the Windows Registry). Sometimes I edit it manually and there's no issues dealing with kontakt libraries. But you must add a [library Name]_info.nkx to your library folder. Or maybe I was lucky.

    It's easy enough to create a nicnt file, but be careful not to introduce one to a lib that already has that info encoded in its file structure - if there wasn't a nicnt file originally, don't add one or you will likely corrupt the lib. If you've already reached that point, you can reinstall from rars if you have them, but make sure you completely clear all the files first, including plists and the XML file, and reboot before starting Kontakt again.

    Also, when you do create a nicnt file, make sure you assign an unused SNPID number - conflicts here will cause huge headaches. Introninja has a very useful tutorial on distilling a list of your current libs' SNPID numbers in the Kontakt forum.

    Hey can anyone help me with this problem?
    So I have most of my libraries working but I needed to fix the file for my play series selection. So I followed the read me file that comes with Bob dules version of kontakt and went into my nicnt file to edit the RegKey3 from RegKey2. And I did that thru the notepad on my computer.
    Well it ended up already being RegKey3
    But now I can't figure out how to convert the file back to nicnt.
    The file is now stuck in a notepad version.
    Thanks for any help.
    I really appreciate it.
