    Hi!

I'm trying to see what configuration of effects on a bus is better
So i'm trying different versions of the same bus (like A/B on a vst) to see see whats better
but I have to constantly match the gain of the A and B versions, so i'm constantly struggling with the gain

what vst you recommend for auto...not auto gain...auto LUFS?
I want to always have the same perceived level, so i guess it would be an auto LUFS?
    There's such thing?

    Thanks!

    u/ValiumDuPeuple's ClipGain (M4L, €3+)
I thought I don't really need this, but it actually saved me a lot of time in the last few weeks since I had it. You're mixing in Live and have to adjust bits of audio in terms of volume, or pitch samples a lot? You can map gain and pitch increments up- and downwards to your MIDI controller or keyboard shortcuts. You get a floating window over your mouse to do that with the mouse if you prefer that. No more fiddling with the gain and pitch controls on single clips, you just hover your clip and use the shortcut to increase/decrease gain or pitch. I think it's genius, and u/ValiumDuPeuple is a very supportive and kind guy as well.

    First...What DAW are you using?

The issue from my experience is how the audio signal is processed & passed from plugin-to-plugin. Switching out Clipper & Limiter plugins will always give a different result.s

Have you tried a meter plugin that analyzes & adjust output based on loudness target settings?

I like HOFA 4U+ BlindTest for comparising plugins . It is freeware (3 "tracks") for hardware/plugin comparising. You can adjust the loudness via EBU analysys. Maybe this can help you ...

Manual loudness normalization is what you want to do? Solution: LUFS meter. gain-staging to your desired LUFS reference and you are done.

    I know two Auto LUFS
The one that has the izotope RX program integrated. And Nugen's Mastercheck . But I wouldn't recommend any of them, because I don't particularly like the results that the "Auto" plugins give.

    LUFS meter, volume/levelling plugin, done...
... or you use Reaper then you can render (even dry (fake) render) any file to any LUFSm/s/i value.

What is your DAW? Chances are you don't need an additional tool at all.

These are all gain rider plugins or levelers. Not suitable for "just" level matching.

When I do something like this in Reaper, I send a track to different aux tracks, insert the plugins to be compared on the aux tracks, highlight the aux tracks, and run an action to normalize the aux tracks to a desired LUFS level.
When I need a new level calculation, I run the action again. Much faster than a dry run
