I have a folder that's 60 gig in size on my hard drive, now I would like to save it across several 4.7 DVDs can anyone offer any advice on how to do this, and the best fee software to do it. I currently have Ashampoo as writing software, but that can't handle splitting such a huge file. What I want is some kind of splitter that can slit the file, then save it to dvd, then reassemble it at some future date.....help

I would use either an image backup program (I use Aomei Backupper) or the same WinRar in archive (no compression) mode.
Both of them have options to split to DVD-R size. I don't know about the free thing though.

Edited: If you want to burn directly to the DVDs I'm a bit outdated. What I tell you works for disk drives and then burning 'em to DVD.

 

WinRAR, you get to set size for parts (so can control the number of them for your60gig).

 

You can split your file with 7-zip:

And then burn the parts.
