    I've installed a fairly large number of plugs recently and noticed that my DAW takes a little longer to load.
    It's still at an acceptable level, but I notice it.
    I was wondering how long other people's DAWs take to load?

    I'm running Bandlab Cakewalk Ver27 on a Win7 machine (yes, it still works fine!) with SSD system drive.
    I have a ridiculous number of plugins installed.

    If I start Cakewalk, (with nothing new installed since last time), it takes 15 secs until the GUI is up, it tells me 'no new plugins' and I can choose a project to load.

    How long does yours take? What system and what DAW?

    Cakewalk here as well. Takes around 3 sec to fully load.

    Live 11 is fast still, bcs it scans samples and vsts after the app itself opened fully.

    Reaper is super quick open (instant), no matter how old your notebook/computer is. Also super fast VST scan.

    For me in Windows 10, it's 4 seconds for Cakewalk. Studio One takes a little longer. Overall, the speed of the new PC's is adapted to the new fast time. If you turn off the "Automatic check for new plugins" you gain a few more valuable seconds.

    You can go to --> Preferences -->"File --> VST Settings then check options --> set manual check, you'll get a little more performance.

    well... I counted:

    Reaper - 2 seconds

    Bitwig - 16 seconds

    Renoise - 19 seconds

    These are the numbers... at least for today on my main pc

    Edit:

    Specs:

    Win 10 latest update
    Ryzen 5 2600
    RX 570 4GB
    16GB RAM 3000mhz
    240GB SSD Sata (OS and most of plugins in here)
    1TB HDD

    +/- 150 plugins.

    This should be the solution. If there's that option to only manually check for new plugins should load with a consistent speed no matter the number of plugins. A little slower perhaps but not that much.
    Can't be sure becuse I don't use BandLab.

    About 2-3 seconds for Reaper, if not opening a track at all... this also does load into a template, albeit a fairly basic one (mainly blank tracks with a few Pro-q3 instances), and a handful of monitoring plugins.

    A shade under 2s with it opening completely blank (no monitoring plugins/template)

    I have logic set to auto-load the last project I had open when I closed it. My current project is 30 channels and Logic loads to it opened, in just under 30 seconds. From blank would obviously be faster.

    All these are with plugin scanning on startup disabled, of course.
    Loading basically blank templates, and that's the way to check the basics.
    Of course different DAWs may load various plugins faster / slower, etc.
    I don't suspect any of them of delaying too much and it all seems to vary depending on the plugins and/or audio loading up.

    Secs
    02 = Reaper v6.72
    02 = FL Studio v20.8.4
    05 = Tracktion Waveform v12.0.5.3
    07 = Cakewalk v28.06
    09 = N-Track Studio v9.1.7
    11 = Studio One v6.02
    12 = Bitwig v4.4

    Cakewalk here too. Loads in a few seconds because I don't scan on startup. I just do a manual scan when I actually add something. Don't know the exact time but I'll guess 4 seconds or so.

    FL Studio starts in 3.684532 seconds on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, the rest of the days 4.87467 seconds. I don't know why.

    Reaper workflow is great, especially if you use Project templates, Offline FX mode, and Render options.
