Not really accounting for the automatic markup of it being a Mac, with those specs on a secondhand computer I probably wouldn't pay much over $300... $400 max.
I don't have any idea what the actual market value of it is. I just know for a little under $1000 I put together an i7 6700k with 250GB SSD and 2TB WD Black in it.

My two cents :dunno: are you looking to buy this or sell it?

Sorry about my ignorance but can you explain this to me? Are you just saying that because the processor is slow? Or is this a mac thing? I vaguely remember reading some time ago that certain systems can only be updated to a certain point with OSX, but I figured I must have misunderstood. This comment makes me think maybe I didn't. If that's true it sucks.

I wouldn't say so, the processor is only 32-bit anyway so smells like emulating 64-bit and compatibility problems ahead.

You are wrong. 1.1 / 2.1 systems are both 32 and 64 bit. I have a 1.1 system and thing is a beast now with 11.11. I have no issues with compatability and everything is running smooth. The only things that needs to be upgraded is the graphics card and ram as a minimum of 12gb.

I would ask you to do some research before misleading information.

Man this stuff makes the ancient Greeks look young.
Seriously though, ram makes it worth 200$ otherwise its around 100$.
I know because i wanted to sell a dual core with 8gb ram and its worth shyte today.
Case makes it look expensive, but the guts are rather out dated, still good for medium sized projects or a second pc
    farm via VSL Pro.

outdated to Apples standards because they want you to buy all new stuff everytime. This MacPro can be brought back to life with OS update patch as I did mine and it works fantastic in studio standards.

Yes,computers have been aging slower in the last 5-6 years, which means they can still run a lot of programs, though many
newer plugins and vst instruments are very cpu intensive, you just have to know what to work with and what to avoid.

Totally agreed but everything I've used so far (latest and greatest synth / fx etc...) work flawlessly even to today's CPU specs. I guess it really depends on how you optimize your CPU.
