I'm in the 50-100 range... But I'd say only 20-30 are worth anything. There is so much crap out there especially on the sister site.

 

I have Komplete 9 (won it in a contest) so I guess 34 libraries. However I have never used them. I am totally unfamiliar with Kontakt and since I am mostly into Techno I doubt Kontakt has added value to me.

What do you think fellow Audiosexers? I'd appreciate your opinions.

Exactly zero :p Not into acoustic sounds at all -- I have a nice collection of drum samples, some sfx etc and a few VSTi. Some acoustic drum sounds here and there surely, but those are collateral. My entire DAW folder with everything related is 187 GB.

 

My main computer (my 'baby') currently has a total of 5 Seagate (4TB) hard drives. So, 8TB (in my extreme way of thinking) is relatively modest. But, ever since I began assembling my own PC's as a much younger dude, I've always built them with multiple, large storage drives. I work with (edit) a lot of raw video footage, etc. Undoubtedly, I'm a bit OCD when it comes to that sort of stuff. (My tech buddies tell me that if I could find a "Zettabyte" hard drive, I'd probably own three). <lol>

 

I'm using a 256GB SSD in a USB3 enclosure as to make the K-libs available to >1 machine, and what doesn't fit simply isn't good enough to keep.
My strange but useful productivity principle.
As of now, I'm at around 180GB. And no, I'm not using any large orchestral libs.
Sometimes I reduce the lib size by editing/purging some samples and mappings, if there's room for reduction.
I prefer lib tweaking over having three libs that are just slightly different: EQ, room simulation, amp simulation etc.

 

If you don't mind me asking:
- 8 TB translates to how many libs?
- How many libs do you use +/- among those?

 

≈50, but I only use a few of them - mostly Fairlight and Synclavier samples, and the Forgotten Keys classic drum machine (re)creations. I'm playing with the Scarbee MM Bass Amped library on a new track and liking it a lot, so I'll probably have to splash for that in the near future.

I have about 8. Always had slower internet so to much of a pain to get more.

More like within the duoducentillions. I'm not sure if he's even a real dude. I've spoke with him a few times but my bot-o-meter determined on average ~5,830 requests per yoctosecond from his end.

What I actually find amazing is that some folks are a bit nonplussed and feel the need to challenge the very question itself. What the hell? The operative word is: "HAVE"! As in: "How Many Kontakt Libraries Do You "HAVE"? NOT "owned", "stolen", or some other word. If I had wanted to frame the question using any of those other words, I would have done so. Come on folks, this is not a court of law; just an innocuous poll. Nothing more, nothing less... However, I do find some responses rather curious (to say the least).
