    Hey guys,

Sorry for the dumb question! But how do you link let’s say 2 Mac Pros to use them as “one main hub" for your production?

You know what I mean? To link them in a way that your music session file would launch from Mac Pro 1, but to use the overall processing power (Cores, RAM, etc..) from both? Is that possible? Hope I made myself clear…..

Or you just use a second Mac Pro as an “external HD” to stream large virtual libraries?

    Thank you!

Or ReaMote, that IMHO works better as you don't have to configure it on slave side. The downside being not all VST and VSTi are supported, for example Kontakt is NOT.
Outside audio, it's basically about parallelization - 8 processing threads per machine, for example 8 h265 encoding streams. This works for multiple files very well, not so much for single one.

Well ReaMote looks interesting, but I use a lot of AU based plugins, including Kontakt...so not sure if that's going to work, but thank you!

Yes, you're right. In fact, I have two operating system. Win7 and Win10. I've make a error on the version used. In fact, this is the computer of my son. He also made composition with a legit version of FL Studio. And all programs are cracked. Just for Try before Buy. If he is certain to use Diva for example, then I buy it. Me I don't use these gadgets.

I collect used computer stuff, you can find a lot of things for cheap or even free. My 1.73GHz quad-core i7 laptop (free) just blew-up, but luckily I salvaged the SSD, so I'm on the lookout for something else :bleh:

Online Free-ads, friends, relatives, etc. Lot's of people are supplied regularly through work with new computers, so they dump all their old stuff :) I guess it depends what country you are in though.

Check out COPPERLAN software. It's free, and uses your ethernet port to Tx/Rx midi data using virtual midi ports.

    http://www.copperlan.org/

Hook that up to a switch with other PCs or MACs w/ copperlan installed on all of them, and you're good to go using cat5 crossover. To add physical midi in/out for hardware synths etc., check out "Alyseum" hardware, which is compatible with copperlan.

    https://www.perfectcircuitaudio.com/alyseum-al-88c.html

If you need another ethernet port, just buy a pcie card - NOT USB --> Ethernet adapter.

Definitely worth investigating, and you bypass the jitter and bulls*** associated with midi over usb.

For rock solid midi timing, the next step would be to add external midi sync and use it to send clock to all external devices :

3 computers. I use my main desktop at home, a windows tablet/laptop 2 in 1 (for compiling presets into banks, testing plugins, etc), and another desktop at my girlfriend's house.
