as I get older I feel new technology is being used more to control us, rather than to enhance us

 

This reminds me of another piece of sensationalist propaganda: Reefer Madness.

Stop making blanket statements. Technology is a tool that is neither good nor bad, it's how it's used that makes the distinction. Just because some people would use technology to control that doesn't mean some aren't using it to save people's lives. For example if this were in Biblical times some of us would be dead by now so the only reason some of us are alive is because of technology. How are we talking right now? Technology. How are you travelling? Technology. In that way it's the same as money. Is money inherently evil? No because you can use money to help yourself and those around you or you could use it to destroy yourself and those around you. The distinction is whether you have used your money to create value. Same here.

I saw a kinda interesting video. Though maybe it would be interesting for some others.

Didn`t really wanna raised any theological discussion based on it. Wasn`t making ANY statement, blanket or otherwise.

I think you took that the wrong way. I don't like the thought process in the video, it is a blanket statement. Since you put it up you must agree with it to some degree. I feel it is an unfair representation of technology so I explained that is all. I wasn't turning this into a technology vs. religion conversation, I just used Biblical times as an example. I could have easily said a few hundred years ago instead.
