i would try like this...drag mp4 into studio1....use extract audio option
then take multi wav into audacity or
    or reaper

    Extract Channels to Mono Files

maybe you get lucky and get a clean wav of wanted content

@Gyro Gearloose I had no idea it was a workstation either. I just just the movie file into S1, and boom. Mind blown! I was very impressed to learn that it worked in that way! I've recently branched out to using multi DAWs, too, thanks to @No Avenger's suggestion. At least now I know where to go if I ever need to do something like this again!

@indianwebking which movie, and what part? If you could give me the movie title, and the timezone I could possibly do it for you, then PM you the part that you're after.

@Gyro Gearloose I did try dragging the exported audio into Audacity, because I know that it gives you the option to split audio track into mono, but the file I dragged into Audacity came up as a stereo file. Not the six different audio tracks. I don't know if I did something wrong on my end, but it didn't work for me. Adobe Audition which I got from the sister site worked like a charm. I've never used Reaper, so I can't comment on that.

Those few Megabytes are ultra powerful. I've found it to be the most customizable DAW. Period.
Don't let it overwhelm you. Try to do just ONE thing and realize the amount of options it allows you. Then do another.

    Now customize your Actions

@Pinkman I think I might have try using Reaper. Right now I'm looking for a way to play my electric guitar, and have something that turns the played notes into midi notes that triggers whatever VST I want to use. Reaper seems to be the only solution from what I've found so far, and it looks like a very powerful program. Sister site, here I come! It looks like I'm now a quad-DAW user.

@Pinkman how the fuck do you add a VST to an existing audio track on Reaper? I'm drunk, but not that drunk to be able to figure it out. I just can't find an option to do so. All I can find is Insert Virtual Instrument On New Track. I don't know what I'm missing. I've tried Google and YouTube, but zero help. At least I'm very comfortable to say that I'm a noob with this DAW.

@Pinkman no worries! Found it. All I had to do was drag out the left side bar a bit to find the FX button. Sorry to bother you, man.

I know of two ways, either click on the teeny-tiny "FX"-button on the track (either in the track view or in the mixer), or resize the mixer to be bigger, it will then reveal the FX slots for the track (like Logic and Cakewalk and such).

@Sorry, brother. I'm a little drunk too. Plumb's got you though. REAPER's cool as it doesn't really distinguish between MIDI and Audio tracks until you create MIDI notes.

One track to rule us all.

@phumb-reh I managed to figure it out after playing with panel sizes. All of what you've suggested was hidden from me. That or I'm too damn drunk to have noticed it! I'd go for the latter. I've certainly not seen anything like what you've got in your snapshot, so far. Learning a new thing. Time takes time. But I really am loving it, so far! But thank you for your reply, man. Appreciated!

@Pinkman never say sorry for being drunk! That is my general working stasis. Though it does lead me overlooking simple things. Ah, I'd take drunken frustration over sobriety any day! And now I sound like an alcoholic. Sweet!

To paraphrase Fat Boy Slim: Right here, right now, this is why I love this community.

I know what .flac is, so I have to ask why you would feel the need to do that?

Also, Logic has Audio to MIDI feature. Not a realtime process though.

You can also: View -> FX Browser. From there you can drag and drop the FX on any track or Item.
You can also use [Ctrl] + [mouse click] to select several FX.

Close, you can have MIDI and audio files on the same track. Reaper doesn't care and plays whatever is there.
