You should just go to his website and download the user manual for whichever console. The instructions are usually about a paragraph and tell you exactly how to use the emulation.

    But in general,

***IMPORTANT*** Take care with gain staging since the programs are close to the hardware, then: 0dBVU = -18dBfs.
Adjust Drive and Liquidity to see if you can achieve a better sound, not necessary though.

Sorry if it sound like '' AlexB console for dumbies'' but does it mean that i should bring the input( Lets say GMC ST ) in the yellow ( for what ovalf seems to describe as ''hot signal'' ) or would it be better to lets say send my 6 input at reasonable level ( gain staged in nebula input itself ) to get a ''yellow level'' in my nebula master channel plugin ?

NEVER trust Nebula meters. Their functionality/usability is not far from plain GUI decoration.
Nebula need a specific input level to work well, and the level sweet spot might change slightly from library to library.
Use a good meter like PPMulator to monitor the input signal, and stay on what pimpdrop suggested in his comment above: a gain staging at 0dBVU = -18dBfs.
Keep in mind that in Nebula the always present rightmost Drive slider is not what you're used to in analog emu plug-ins, i.e. is not emulated analog saturation drive control.
So don't push like a mofo on it trying to get "warmth", in most situations is better not to touch it at all *no*
Alex's console emus usually just need a proper gain staging - input level, and nothing more. With all channels running thru it, you'll feel the difference at mixdown *yes*

    Thanks Copylefter.

I had to make some research because you were all speaking chinese to me .

If someone else is interested in knowing what 0dBVU = -18dBfs. Is....take a quick read there.

Its clear and simple : (it take only 2 minute top chrono to read)

    Another question guys

With that technic , where should i put the PPmulator to read -18dbfs ?

Signal - PPmulator - AlexB Input - AlexB Master

    OR

Signal - AlexB Input - PPmulator - AlexB Master

thanks again for those golden infos !!

Before Nebula of course, you want to monitor how hot is your signal going into AlexB's console. Anyway use your ears as well

Yeah as said things vary library to library so only thing you need to make sure of as a rule is that the clip light doesn't clip at all, rest is up to your ears and whether you want it clean or hotter, pre vu meter good for starting you off in the right area but varies on accuracy depending on transients present in material.
