how do you get this vocal sound

    i am guessing its eq high cut maybe low cut too? + a distortion kind of plugin?

    In Reaper, Band Pass EQ, ~ 2kHz, width ~ 0,6 or smaller, plus Waveshaping ~ 90%. Doesn't match exactly but'll take you close.

    "Telephone mic" (rip out any shitty dynamic mic capsule and go DIY in a cup), EQ, distortion and EQ.
    Bandpass and distortion goes a long way with any mic.

    You could check out the AudioThing Effect Speaker and Megaphone plugin. It might be an easy solution. Also check out Vocalsynth 2.

    Sounds like an AM/FM Radio preset for vocals. Izotope Nectar can do it. Waves OVOX probably can too.
