    Hi

How do you bounce stems of a finished song, when you want to have the song's stems ready in case someone wants to license it etc etc,
and when you want to have the stems for live performances for different occasions (when on stage there's only a singer and a drummer, or only bass and keyboard players etc)

So how do you render stems of a finished song for live performances and publishing purposes?
Do you simply turn off all effects on the master bus, and render each stem?
Or do you leave some of the effects on the master bus while rendering? (like e.g. stereo imager, EQ...)

    Cheers!

I'd mute all tracks I don't want in the mix and leave everything else untouched – maybe there are better ways to do it, but this depends on the specific circumstances.

best is to record tracksto cassette tape

that way when you want to go live, you only press a button on the cassette player

    and BAM

@Triple, they probably would need to know which DAW/OS to be able to give good suggestions.

Export my groups/subs. With or without effects (depends).
Cubase has channel batch export, so I do it in a single run.

In Studio One you can export as mix or stems. For me I'll mix with the effects. But if you about the money you can give the option of both with and without effects so the end user can tailor for their end product.

    I'm on FL Studio 10/12. Win7 64bit

So while rendering stems it would make sense to turn off compression/limiting/maximizing but leave stereo imaging and EQ - do you agree?
(when the stems will be played live, they would be run through a new master compression/limiting...)
