Are there any good references on this matter? tools in my DAW to help? What helped you guys? I am not trying to be as good as ADELE but I want to make take my vocals in my electronic tracks and warp and twist them. And someone told me learning how to sing will make me a better musician.

I know right! I've been producing for 2 1/2 years and literally just stopped so I can learn music theory finally. It's pretty interesting and is different then anything i've ever learned. Very fun. Right now I am just watching the same thing over and over again and it's making more sense every day. I bought a midi keyboard. A keystation 49 ES

 

If you are ready to devote a couple of hours a day, 1 for studying and 1 for practicing, 3-5 days a week, for at least 6 months so you learn the very basic principles. There's many video courses that may help you. Youtube is full of free tips as well. Some teach through Youtube or Skype with a very small subscription fee. Cheers
PS: Practice ,practice and more practice makes perfect. Still its different when you have someone to teach you things because it is an extra ear and in the case of a tutor an experienced one. This means the traditional way may save you a lot of time imho always.

Play in a band. Sing in a band.

Sing at home, in the shower and while making food (before going to rehearsals to sing more). Then tour.

That's what I did for years and I'm a pretty good singer.

 

It is generally accepted to practice singing in the shower.... even when/if you suck

on a serious note, I think playing around with auto tune def. can help like smokernzt said,
maybe even image-line pitcher because it gives some more relevant visual feedback what note you are hitting (or missing )

if you want to do it like that it's important that you know what key the song is you are practicing on,
which in itself is a useful quality to have.

 

Warp and twist vocals are different than sing because you really can do anything with a bad singer today.
Kontakt is killer for twist, and any Melodyne can do wonders if you need the best results.
If you need clean and good results you need to really sing something.
So with you want? Warp or sing?

Practice is better than learning. 2 years is not a lot. Why don't you go to music college for education? Also, too much knowledge can burry your creativity.

 

The only way is to practice, again and again and again. Thing that may help is to sing with a mic, things are very different with and without a Mic. It also depends on what you're looking for. Live singing and studio singing are so different in terms of technique. Believe me singing live and studio are two differents stories.

Learn how to breathe deep in your stomach and how to throw the air out properly to have resonance ... projection and sustain with impact.

play along with the piano... get into a trance do this each day....not only you shall learn gradually but it can become like mediation and yoga of the breathing and singing

You have to be born with it... it is a natural gift and talent. If you don't possess either one... well then, get a job and pay a professional. Then there's also a band-aid called auto-tune (it screams "fake!! Neither me or this 'singer' can actually sing!!").
