What's the worst that could happen anyway if a plugin does manage to call home? It won't work anymore? That's inconvenient but hardly something to worry over. Or are we talking about getting sued? I've been using cracked plugins since 2018, and to be honest, I keep this machine connected to the internet at all times, and I also do private stuff on it, and so far, nothing has happened... That said, I do have a large hosts file, I keep a strict R2R diet, and I "only" have like 40 cracked plugins in total. But I suspect that at some point one of my plugins probably has managed to successfully call home.
