Thanks, it sounds easy enough. I forgot all about Serum and I haven't used it for many years!

    hey zenarcist
gotta love those kexp live shows, simply amazing.
a few things in common in M83 sounds is that they are full of modulation and movement
they use the pitch and modulation wheels, tremolo, make lots of use of the lfo and reverb
but i'm guessing you know this already

Yeah, I saw the ASM Hydrasynth with the extra-long ribbon modulation strip.

Any synth and a good reverb. Surge XT is free. VCV Rack can be found on the sister site (is currently $149). u-he Diva. You can also use Xfer Serum as suggested. It's not so much what you use, but knowing how to use it and dial in the sound you want.

Look into shimmer reverbs like Eventide Blackhole, ValhallaShimmer, Variety of Sound EpicClouds (WinPCfree!), etc.

Right, even with free VSTs you can reach (sound) targets that with hw many years ago were just mirages.

you'll need a mellotron patch from arturia, Vallhalla reverb and about 15 gallons of tatto ink. don't add all the ink at once or it just leaks out of the computer, ask me how I know.....
